The Star Fund: Unrestricted Giving
The Educational Foundation has long maintained a fund of unrestricted monies. However, in order to help clarify the purposes of such donations, the name "The Star Fund" was established. Unrestricted gifts often are the most useful because they permit allocation to the point of greatest need. Donors can provide gifts without restriction that allow the Trustees flexibility in fund management. The Educational Foundation's unrestricted general fund is used for charitable activities and day-to-day Educational Foundation operations. Donate now!
Planned Giving
The Educational Foundation also accepts funds provided through various planned giving programs, including:
- Bequests
- Insurance policies
- Estate arrangements
- Annuities
- Charitable IRAs
- Property and real estate
- Stocks and securities
Through planned gifts, donors may be able to realize long-term tax or financial advantages or can contribute substantial one-time gifts. The Foundation works closely with financial experts and attorneys to ensure that the wishes of donors and their families are fulfilled.
Financial Planning
You already may have considered including a bequest to Alpha Chi Sigma in your will or designating the Fraternity or the Foundation as a beneficiary. But are you aware that you have options that can produce substantial tax savings in your lifetime as well as reducing or eliminating the taxes on your estate?
Financial planning instruments, such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts, can help ensure that your assets pass to those people, institutions and causes that mean the most to you.
